Common questions
When does the decorator need access to the venue?
Usually the day before, or early on the morning of the function for a small setup. Large stage and mandap work cannot be done in a couple of hours. Ask how long they need, then give them more than that — this is the most common reason decoration is unfinished when guests arrive.
Fresh flowers or artificial?
Fresh flowers look better and photograph better, but they wilt and must arrive close to the function. Artificial decoration holds up all day, costs differently, and can be put up early. For a long function in hot weather, ask the decorator which parts they would do fresh and which artificial.
Will the lighting overload our supply?
Ask this before the day, not on it. Decorative lighting can draw far more than a house circuit expects, and a function that trips the power repeatedly is a bad evening. The decorator should tell you what is needed and whether a generator is sensible.
